10:10 AM

Orange is such a vibrant and warm color. It reminds me of sunshine, Summer and healthy foods. Here is a list of 10 orange fruits to add to your diet. These are some of my favorite foods, I love them, and I hope you will too.

1. Oranges

Freshly squeezed orange juice, first thing in the morning, is just the thing to get you up and running. Not only will you feel refreshed, drinking a glass of orange juice reduces inflammation in the body, and improves blood pressure.

2. Peach

When you bite into this delicious sweet fruit, it’s hard not drool. The juice goes everywhere, down your chin, and splashing onto your clothes. As well as being so tasty, it’s full of natural sugars, that help to control your sweet tooth, and other food cravings.

3. Apricot

Apricots usually have a drier, and sweeter taste than peaches. Pump up your energy, by eating dried apricots during the day instead of a sugary option. Dried apricots are full of iron, so good for the blood.

4. Cantaloupe

If you want to keep your muscles supple, and your heart healthy, then this is the food for you. Full of potassium and vitamin C, it will help keep your tendons and ligaments supple and healthy. If you feel like relaxing after a stressful day, eating cantaloupe will help you to chill out.

5. Carrot

When you’re finding that you’re not seeing the world as clearly as you used to, try eating more carrots. Carrots really do improve your eyesight. Bursting with beta-carotene, which is converted to vitamin A, this vegetable keeps the eyes healthy. If you’ve cut yourself in the kitchen, try rubbing a carrot on your skin, it can help stop infection.

6. Mango

Amazing mangoes, with a deliciously different flavor from other fruits. A tropical taste that’s refreshing and healthy too. This fruit is bursting with vitamin E, which helps to keep your skin looking younger for longer. You can also use Vitamin E oil to help heal scars, and acne.

7. Pumpkin

A reminder that shorter evenings, and Halloween are on the way. This humble fruit comes in many shapes and sizes. Low in calories, with no fats or cholesterol, it’s an ideal fruit if you’re watching your weight, and cholesterol levels. Pumpkin seeds are also known to be a super food, because they contain high levels of protein, minerals and vitamins.

8. Sweet Potato

If you get sugar cravings, then eating sweet potatoes can help control them. They’re a great source of iron, which helps build up your energy levels. They also contain the mineral magnesium, which helps you to relax.

9. Papaya

Mouth watering and exotic, this amazing tropical fruit is full of goodness. Papaya can help to keep your digestive system healthy. If you’re suffering from morning sickness, or an upset stomach, eating a small slice of Papaya regularly, can help ease the feelings of nausea.

10. Turmeric

This spice is a favorite ingredient used in many Asian and Indian dishes. In Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines, it is used to help clear infections, and reduce inflammation. Recent research into the health benefits of turmeric, has shown that it can also help with osteoarthritis and heart disease. It may be useful in the treatment of cancer, although research is still at an early stage.

Starting off your morning with a glass or orange juice, eating succulent fruits during the day, or adding some spice to your food, all help improve your health and well-being. Summer is a great time to tantalize the taste buds, and try out new foods. These are just a small sample of orange foods to add to your diet, I like them, and I hope you will too.
